Zephaniah 1:15

My study of Zephaniah 1:15 began when I realized that this verse is cited in discussions about “tribulation.” This verse contains many words that are included in the “language of divine speech.” Many of these words are used by Luke throughout the 21^st chapter. Zephaniah 1:15 (RSV) states:

A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

A number of these words warrant further study.
